If you have an external Shimano Di2 battery, SM-BTR1, you need the SM-BMR2 Battery Mount to keep the battery on the bike. There are three different battery mounts. The first is the BMR2-S, which is the shortest, works with internal wiring, and bolts on top of bottle/battery mounts built into your frame. Meaning two holes that are 2.5 inches or 64mm apart and are threaded for M5 X 0.8 bolts. Those bolts are 5mm in diameter and have threads .8mm apart and are what most call "bottle cage bolts." The next two work on the long bracket. This bracket is long enough that it can go under your water bottle cage and the battery will still fit. The bracket is extremely secure, but some pro teams liked to zip tie the section of the mount by the battery so it didn't move around at all. The second is the SM-BMR-2-I, which has the long bracket and works with internal wiring as well. The third is the SM-BMR-2-L, which is the long bracket and works with external wiring.
