Shimano's Deore M617 front derailleur features trickled down technology from their XTR range, namely in its "side swing" feature. This design creates much better rear tyre clearance and a massive reduction in shifting effort. The Deore M617 also features a steel reinforced chain guide to improve rigidity, which improves shift quality.
