The design team for the new Thomson X4 had a tough goal: make a stem better than the Thomson Elite 25.4. Early tests showed us that our competitors 31.8 stems were heavier and weaker than our Thomson Elite 25.4. At Thomson the X4 was not done until it was stronger, lighter and longer lived than the legendary Thomson Elite.
The Thomson X4 stem allows you to realize the benefits of stiffer forks and stiffer 31.8 bars. X4 offers precise steering, tracking, and more control while riding, all wrapped up in a beautiful design.
Certified to: EN 14766 2006 MTB and DIN CERTCO: 2006 MTB
The Thomson X4 is stronger and 30 grams lighter than the Thomson Elite 25.4 mountain stem. It features a traditional steerer clamp that is shaped to save weight and to be knee friendly. X4 is absolutely the best combination of strength and weight available. Thomson stems are the strongest in the industry, meaning freeride and downhill riders can run Thomson confidently.

Our expert mechanic pulls your bike out of the box and builds it to 100%, excluding accessories (i.e racks and baskets). We tune the brakes and gears then test ride to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We then take off a few simple parts to fit the bike into the box. We double check to ensure all the parts are enclosed, before sealing the box and sending to you.
