ALL DISTANCE ROCKET The Super-9 takes the toroidal bulge of the Sub-9 and makes that the width of the disc virtually from the rim to the hub. ABLC™ dimpling speeds airflow over its surface to create a disc with practically the same aerodynamic advantage as the Sub-9. By virtue of it's wider profile, it increases stiffness dramatically, making this the stiffest disc Zipp makes.
Originally intended for time trials, track racing and the occasional Tour de France prologue, the Super-9 has also become a favourite among Ironman and 70.3 distance triathletes. It is the wheel that Marino Van Hoenacker chose en route to the fastest Ironman race time ever at Ironman Austria. Proving that this wheel is versatile enough to be winning at any distance.
The Super-9 is the all-around rocket that will outclass any other disc we’ve tested, even with 23 mm tires. Its hub features the stiff 17 mm axles of the 188 road hub along with adjustable bearing preload with the industry’s only aero preload nut.
The standard version of the Super-9 weighs less than 1000 grams and is convertible between road and track setups. The Super-9 has claimed multiple world time trial championships, Tour de France stages, Ironman®-distance and 70.3-distance victories, not to mention the fastest Ironman® performance of all time.
