WTB Verdict 29" TCS Tyre

Out of Stock

The Verdict is our most aggressive front-focused tire

The tire of choice when relentless traction takes priority over rolling efficiency. The flat profile of the Verdict keeps chunky outer knobs shoveling at all times while a substantial intermediate channel ensures multiple knob edges are able to bite when you initiate a corner. Abundant open space between every knob allows the Verdict to chew through the driest days of summer and fling mud during the wettest months of winter.

  • BIG KNOBS EVERYWHERE - Centerline, transition zone and outer tread...all areas feature massive knobs. Tall knobs that dig deep, with lengths that hold up to heavy braking and thick, supportive bases that refuse to flex regardless of how hard you push them. Throw on a Verdict and forget the days of front tire wash-out.
  • UPDATES - The Verdict treads has been updated with improved knob shapes and siping to prevent knob flex and increase cornering support while also extending tread life. Siping depth was reduced on the outermost knobs in order to improve support without sacrificing traction on wet roots and rocks. The tread profile has also been updated to improve predictability while cornering and provide a smoother transition from the centerline to side knobs.
  • OPEN INTERMEDIATE CHANNEL - The continuously open channel between the intermediate and side knobs provide separate zones of abundant braking and cornering traction. Abundant open space between all knobs allows the tread to dig through the driest days of summer and fling mud in the wettest months.
  • FRONT-FOCUSED DESIGN - Designed to dig deep and improve cornering traction above all else. There are countless possible configurations, but we suggest pairing the Verdict 2.5 with a Judge 2.4 on the rear as a start. The Verdict/Judge combo keeps the front upright while you steer with the rear. Verdict 2.5 has also proven to be a great rear tire for e-bikers who need unparalleled traction in loose or wet terrain.
  • TUBELESS COMPATIBLE - TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless system. These tires feature a TCS tubeless casing, which nearly eliminates flats and allows lower tire pressures to improve traction and comfort over a traditional tube-type tire.

TRITEC COMPOUND

TriTec blends three distinct rubber compounds to provide different levels of traction, support and durability based on their placement within the tread. High durometer rubber provides a foundation for the entire tread pattern and even extends slightly into the base of each knob to provide additional support below the softer compounds used in the remainder of each knob. Center knobs feature a medium durometer compound to provide traction and durability without sacrificing rolling efficiency, while outer knobs feature the softest compound for maximum grip and slow rebound characteristics.

TCS LIGHT OR TCS TOUGH?

TCS Light tires feature a single-ply casing whereas TCS Tough tires are dual-ply. XC and trail riders often choose TCS Light tires for their minimal weights while enduro, gravity and e-bike riders prefer TCS Tough for the additional durability and cornering support. Some riders opt for TCS Light on the front where weight is more noticeable and TCS Tough on the rear where a burlier tire is beneficial. Most of our TCS Light mountain tires feature Slash Guard technology, which provides a protective nylon insert spanning the entire sidewall to provide extra puncture protection without the weight of a dual ply casing.

SG2 PUNCTURE PROTECTION

TCS Light single-ply mountain tires are available with SG2 puncture protection. SG2 is a lightweight nylon layer that protects all areas of the tire with an additional level of defense against punctures and pinch flats. Bead-to-bead SG2 also improves sidewall stability and overall tire support without the additional weight of a Tough (dual-ply) casing.

Flat nylon fibers within SG2 reduce the amount of rubber needed to fill the gaps between fibers compared to traditional protection layers with round fibers. The increased fiber-to-rubber ratio boosts puncture resistance while reducing weight and improving suppleness compared to our Tough casings. Third-party lab testing showed bead-to-bead SG2 provides 80% more sidewall protection than traditional single-ply tires without SG2.
